Last Minute Christmas Marketing Tips
Posted on 24th November 2024 at 16:49
It’s nearing the end of November. Black Friday has raced towards us faster than a herd of caffeinated reindeer. Keep your eyes open, if you blink, you’ll miss December. Christmas time, after all, is one of the biggest sales opportunities for most brands.
But you’re on the cusp of leaving your marketing until far too late. You need to brush the cinnamon cookie crumbs from your desk and start creating.
How do you make the most of a bad situation? Yes, you’re late to the North Pole, but that doesn’t mean you have lost out on all your seasonal sales.
Here are some tips to make sure that your Christmas marketing gets seen by your audience before Santa starts sliding down your chimney:
An Advent Calendar of Discounts and Advice
Even as an adult we love and advent calendar. Sure, some people believe that they’re for kids, but some of us have advent calendars with a new D&D dice, or a different flavoured coffee. Advent Calendars are fun, and they keep that Christmas spirit going.
Every day, on social media, give your audience an opportunity to see something new. Whether it is a special discount code that lasts until the end of the day, or some useful piece of advice pertaining to your products, it will give your audience something to look forward to each day.
Who doesn’t like a Christmas hamper?
We love the way Christmas tastes and smells, don’t we? All the coffee shops pushing the cinnamon and ginger syrups, the mince pies from the bakery, and those seasonal lebkuchen let us know it is Christmas. Everyone is more inclined to go looking for those rich and sweet treats. Perhaps you can give some away?
Advertise that all orders over a certain amount will be entered into a free prize draw for a succulent hamper. People will spend a little longer on your website looking for that extra item that will push them over the threshold. You will also be able to gather some email addresses when they fill in the form.
Show how much you love a bit of Christmas
The other inimitable fact about Christmas is that it is about people getting together. People like to see groups of people celebrating the season, whether that be families on some nice and well produced videos, or if that’s office people Christmassing about the office.
Show off your tree. Show Debbie from accounts in her funny winter hat. Get pictures of the entire team wearing their Christmas jumpers on ugly Christmas jumper day. Get videos of the whole team at the Christmas party all having fun. People are often more invested in what the people are doing, that they will engage more with the Christmas content.

Lean into Christmas and Lean Hard
Whatever you decide to do, it is important that Christmas becomes front and centre of your social and email presence. Even if it means cracking out all those snowflakes for the website again, or adding some frosting to your social media logos, lean into it hard.
We’re entering the long grey season of miserable weather. Your customers are looking for a good reason to celebrate. It’s time to get the tree up.
